Adopt a Student

Ask almost any graduate and you’ll hear the same heartfelt answer: “Because my brothers and sisters in Christ carried me through.” That help shows up in so many ways, a timely word of encouragement, a faithful promise of prayer, or even a grocery card that stretches the family budget to month’s end. For many, this blessing comes through the Adopt a Student program, where seminary students are paired with individuals, church congregations, or groups (like LWMLC societies) eager to cheer them on and support their ministry journey. Each year, sponsors commit to walking alongside their student by writing letters, lifting them up in prayer, and sharing financial support. When the weight of studies and ministry preparation feels heavy, these relationships remind students they are not alone. This partnership says loud and clear: The church treasures the ministry and those called to it. And one day, that student you supported might be the very pastor standing in your pulpit, ready to return the blessing you once gave. The program runs from October to June 30, following our academic and fiscal year. Any applications received after October will either be held for the next year, or the gift will go towards the Seminary Guild who support the students in a myriad of ways.
