Colloquy / Pastors with Alternate Training

Colloquy

CLS works on behalf of Lutheran Church—Canada with trained and ordained deacons, or pastors from other denominations, who want to serve in LCC. Those interested in joining by colloquy contact their regional pastor, who may recommend for consideration by the synod’s Colloquy Committee (LCC VP Pr. Tom Kruesel; Dr. Jim Gimbel; CLTS Pres. Dr. Tom Winger). A uniquely tailored programme of study is proposed and carried out by the seminary, often including 1-2 years involvement with faculty on and off campus.

Pastors with Alternate Training (PAT)

CLS also works on behalf of Lutheran Church—Canada to help provide training for highly committed Lutheran leaders from a) other cultures and language groups but living in Canada, or b) from remote and isolated regions of Canada that may not have the means to support a full-time pastor. The first contact is through the Regional Pastor, who will recommend for inclusion in the PAT programme, which can be completed in as few as four years of part-time study while living and working at home.
